Q: What are the Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii Ward Warehouse store hours?
A: The ward store is open:
Monday thru Thursday 10am till 8:30pm Friday thru Saturday 10 am till 9pm
Sunday 10am till 6pm
Q: Does Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii have a newsletter?
A: We have a quarterly printed newsletter and an email list serve. We’d be happy to put you on
our mailing list. Contact us. Q: Does Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii offer special programs or purchases?
A: Book Amenities, Incentives, and Corporate Gift-giving: If you're looking for a unique gift, books
are an appreciated option. Books about Hawaii are especially valued since they are usually printed
in small quantities with many hardcover first edition going out-of-print quickly. Let us help your
business find a truly special, and many times, soon-to-become rare book. We can get custom
bookplates designed, special gift wraps, and if your timing is good, corporate messages and tip-ins
into books just coming off the presses. Quantity discounts are available. If you'd like help on
developing a book project for a corporate need, we're happy to put you in touch with book
designers, packagers, editors, and marketing experts.
Q: Does Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii participate in school book fairs?
A: We love to take books on the road and to schools, libraries and communities. We are happy to
prepare a Native Book Fair sample set tailored to your school or community. We create simple
order forms of the books in the sample set and get them to your school. At the end of the fair, let
us know what sold and we will deliver books to you. Your organization keeps a portion of the
proceeds from the book fair. This money can be used to purchase books from Native Books/Na
Mea Hawaii at a discounted price. We want to help get good na mea Hawaii materials into your
library too!
You can also work with Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii at a one-day, or short-term event. We're
happy to supply you with books, display racks and tablecloths for an event. You do not need to put
any money up front, just return the books within 3 days of the event's end, reconcile with us, and
a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to your organization. Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii
reserves the right to determine whether or not we set up this option. Give us the opportunity to
work with you to set up the best selling event for books about Hawaii.
Q: Can I purchase books at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii with a purchase order for my
school or library?
A: We encourage schools and libraries to visit us at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii. This gives you an
opportunity to really see how your collection compares to the books currently in-print. We offer
discounts to educational purchasers whenever we can, particularly for large orders and classroom
sets. Contact us by phone to find out more about pricing.
If you would like us to visit your school or library with the latest new books, or books from a
specific category or for a particular age group, please let us know. We, of course, take purchase
orders.
Q: Does Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii offer discounts to resellers?
A: We're pleased to work with resellers interested in carrying na mea Hawaii materials. Describe
what your store, organization, or venue sells or wants to sell and we'll help you determine what
categories of books and what specific titles would complement your efforts. A well-thought-
through, focused collection of books about Hawaii could be just what your customers are looking
for.
Wholesale Terms: Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii asks for prepayment on your first two orders to
establish a good payment record. We have a simple credit form we keep on file. We expect to be
paid within 45 days of your receipt of books. We mail to resellers via UPS-insured, ground track, or
via a designated carrier. The cost of actual shipping is passed on to you.
We offer the following discounts: 1 book--no discount (20% discount for pre-paid single title
orders); 2-5 books--20% discount; 6-9 books--30% discount; 10 or more books--40% discount.

We accept authorized, resaleable returns (let us know the books are coming and we'll fax you an
authorization) on purchases made between 90 days after invoice date, but no longer than 12
months after the invoice date. Books that are returned are issued a credit of 80% of the original
invoiced value. The credit may be applied against any new order.
Q: Do you buy or sell rare, out-of-print, or used na mea Hawaii materials?
A: Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii does not at this point deal with rare, out-of-print, or used na mea
Hawaii materials (although we love hearing about them!) There are a couple of great local book
stores that can help you--Bookends in Kailua on Oahu (808) 261-1996 or Kohala Book Shop in
Hawi on Hawaii island (808) 889-6400.
ONLINE ORDERING QUESTIONS
Q: Is ordering at NativeBooksHawaii.com safe?
A: Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii values your business and respects your rights to privacy. While
you shop at our site, we want you to feel safe and secure about the ordering process and credit
card safety. When you place an order, we need to know your name, email address, mailing
address, phone number, credit card number and expiration date. This information is gathered for
billing and shipping purposes only. Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii does not sell, rent, or trade your
information with other organizations. We recommend that you do not share confidential information
through email but only through our online merchandise order form. This order form that contains
this confidential information is encrypted by the Secure Sockets Layer encryption technology so
that the information cannot be read as it travels over the internet.
We use cookies to personalize your experience at NativeBooksHawaii.com. Cookies are small
pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Cookies do
not gather or store personal information but can provide information about what you have
previously purchased at NativeBooksHawaii.com or when you last logged on.
Q: What if I don’t want to order online?

A: Out-of-stock items will be backordered. You will be contacted by phone or email if the item is
unavailable. Your credit card will be billed for items when they are shipped. There are no charges
for backorders.
Q: How do I make a payment online?
We accept the following credit cards for your purchases: VISA, MasterCard, American Express,
Discover and JCB.
If you wish to pay with a check, fill out the order form and indicate that the form of payment will
be check. We will ship your order when payment is received.
Q: What is the Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii Exchange and Refund Policy?
A: We at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii want you to be completely satisfied with the quality and
value of your online purchase. If you wish to return or exchange an item, please contact us at

10am-9pm HST or Sun 10am-5pm. You will receive instructions on returning the merchandise. Any book in saleable condition or any unopened media (CD, cassette tape, DVD, VHS tape, or
software) may be returned for a refund or exchange if the item is currently stocked.
If you received damaged or defective merchandise, we will happily replace the item and you will
not be charged for the shipping cost of the replacement item.
Credit Card Refunds: On returns, we can only credit the credit card that was used for the original
purchase. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the refund to appear on your statement.
Check Refunds: Any refund requests for purchases made with a check will receive a refund check
through the mail. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing.
SHIPPING QUESTIONS
Q: Where does Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii ship to?
A: We ship to all fifty United States as well as U.S. territories via the US Postal Service and UPS.
Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii will also ship merchandise Internationally via USPS Global Priority or
airmail, whichever is cost effective.
Q: What are the shipping options? A: We are currently recalibrating our shipping fees. For most areas this will not affect the rates but
there are some instances where we could save you money. If you feel that you want to check your
shipping for an on-line order, or would like to place a phone order, please call us direct on

We ship Priority Mail via the United States Postal Service, as well as via USPS First Class, Priority,
or Express for inter-island or P.O. Box holders. UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air expedited
shipping options are also available.
Q: Where are my online orders filled and where are they shipped from?
A: All orders are processed and shipped from Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Q: How are the shipping rates determined?
A: Shipping charges are estimated on weight of the package. Per pound rates vary between
various shipping comapanies: USPS and UPS. Native Books, will always try to use the most cost
effective way to ship your package, unless express delivery is specifically requested.
Q: How long will it take for items to be delivered?
A: As a general guideline for U.S. domestic orders, please allow at least 2 business days to
process each order, and an additional 2-7 business days for delivery. For international orders and
winter holiday season, please allow for 2 business days for processing, and an additional 7-14
business days for delivery.
